Doves & Pigeons

Homing Pigeons:
I always keep around 30 homing pigeons, I do not race them but I do have some really nice birds that
were racers. They certainly are fast. They are just fun to have and it is always interesting to see what
colours I get with certain combinations.
I keep a few different colours like blue and ash red. Both these colours I have in bar, check,
t-pattern(velvet), grizzle, bronze bar and partial bar. I have Bronze in check and occasionally bar, Silvers I
currently only have in bar. Opals I have in Dominant T-pattern and Blue Opal check. I also have a colour
that I call cream(pic under the red grizzle)), it makes very uniquely coloured offspring(pic on far right)
crossed with the red grizzle(pic on the right). This year I also hope to breed more indigos.
I usually have a good number of Young Birds available late summer and fall, but sometimes also have a
few during winter/spring.
All birds are banded unless I run out of bands.

Old German Owls
Currently have 1 pair of Old German Owls and hope to increase to 2-3 pairs soon.
My pair consist of an red bar Male and a cream bar female. They are currently nesting and we are hoping
for the first set of babies soon.

Chinese Owls
Currently am home to 2 male Chinese Owls and soon will add a flock of 10 more birds of various colours
to them. Hopefully I will be to pair up these 2 pretty boys very soon.

Ringneck Doves:
Fawn coloured Ringneck doves are also part of my birdy flock. I keep them mainly for fostering eggs or
chicks from the Homers/Quail if necessary. Occasionally I let them hatch a few chicks of their own.
Those I pull from the parents at about 2-3 weeks of age and handfeed them until the end. This way they
make wonderful, tame Pets. All birds are banded unless noted otherwise.
